Space Mechanic Simulator is not just another mechanic game where your only job is to fix some parts. All the parts in this game are simulated, which makes the gameplay more immersive and lifelike. You can't simply disconnect a pipe before closing a valve, and sometimes you won't even know what is broken until you check the schematics and diagnose the problem using your tools. Just be careful not to run low on oxygen, fuel, or energy, as you'll have to fly back to your shuttle to replenish everything. Naturally, it would be very unprofessional to throw a new astronaut into all of this without proper training. As you progress through the game, you'll unlock tutorials that can give you licenses for new tools and new activities. You'll start with simple mechanical repairs and diagnostics with infrared cameras and sensors built into devices, and eventually work your way up to electric repairs and even programming devices. You can also earn extra cash by learning how to mine for resources instead of having to buy them.

Realism and struggle or fun and fiction?
This game aims to strike a balance between complex, overwhelming realism and the fun of simplicity and familiarity. You won't be fixing any dark matter reactors or warp drives. On the contrary, many of the devices you'll encounter are based on actual devices used in real industry here on Earth. You'll be measuring electric signals, temperatures, and pressures using specific tools, comparing information with diagrams, and following the link to find the root of the problem.
